He is also a Non - Executive Director on the Boards of a global Agri inputs company which has substantial operations across India, Africa and SE Asia
In his last corporate role, Anupam was the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Asia Pacific for a leading Fortune 100 agribusiness based out of Singapore.
Having spent twenty-three years with various U.S. multinational corporations across industrial, retail and agriculture sectors in a variety of Finance and Commercial leadership roles across Middle East, India, U.S.A and Singapore, Anupam’s key strengths are focussed on being a key business partner and a growth enabler for companies while ensuring that governance and controls are not undermined.
Anupam is a Chartered Accountant from India, MBA from Babson College and is a certified Board director. He is well versed in tax, governance and regulatory regimes across ASEAN and India and is well versed with the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Asia.
A seasoned international business leader with more than 35+ years of experience at multiple levels
and function of management and leadership of various large Multi-National Companies. Having
secured Masters in Computer Applications in University of Pune, followed by Executive MBA in
International Business from INSEAD Paris, delivering complex solutions and transformations across
international level has been Unni’s area of focus.
During 35+ years of Corporate Career life, Unni has delivered multiple large global programs
involving hundreds of professionals under his leadership. Whether implementing global Supply
Chain solutions or dramatically changing the way Sales and Marketing functions, Unni has seen it at
close quarters.
In the last corporate assignment, Unni has been spearheading the introduction of Mobile
technologies in agriculture and help farmers secure better yield. He had been spearheading the
creation and adoption of the FarmRise platform across India during this time.
Decades of exposure to multiple cultures within organisations and countries have equipped Unni to
identify and work on seemingly insignificant signals which can have major impacts in the ultimate
results in interpersonal relationships. This realisation has led him to focusing on people
development – esp. when it comes to sustainable leadership behaviour change.
Saibal Bhattacharya is a strategic leader with over 27 years of experience in the seeds and agrochemical industry. He is recognized for driving revenue growth, fostering product innovation, and expanding market presence. Saibal’s career began with a large U.S. multinational company He held various leadership roles in a large Indian corporates, including an international assignment. Most recently, he served as Vice President at a leading Indian organization.
His key strengths lie in strategic planning, people development, P&L management, and stakeholder engagement across multicultural environments. Saibal holds a Master’s degree in Agriculture and an MBA, consistently steering companies towards sustainable growth through strategic planning, operational excellence, and strong stakeholder engagement.
Early part of his career has worked with Monsanto and handled pan India responsibilities for the Cotton and Vegetable Businesses. As a Product Manager was responsible for the P&L, Marketing, product pipeline and launches, distribution strategy, trade schemes and the end customer acquisition (farmer).
Also handled pan India P&L responsibilities for other MNCs like J&J and Medtronic.
After that spent more than a decade working in startups. Handled multiple roles like Global Marketing Head for a social enterprise; was the first CXO for CropIn where he built the sales (India and International), BD and marketing functions; was CEO of DestaGlobal and pivoted the company into an online marketplace for agriculture inputs.
In 2020 founded Helicrofter, an e-commerce for agriculture inputs and within a year clocked ARR of $7Mn GMV. Raised a round from Axilor. The business model was both B2B and B2B2C, wherein agri inputs were being purchased online by retailers but the tech enabled the retailers to set up their own e-commerce and sell to farmers in the nearby villages. Helicrofter was acquired by DeHaat.
The entire Helicrofter team became a part of DeHaat. In his new role was leading company’s expansion in new geographies, the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Chattisgarh. Additionally handled two new states, Rajasthan and MP. Also, was instrumental in building best practices for e-commerce like managing Working Capital, optimal Inventory and running the business on ‘cash and carry’ instead of credit. Also, working on several initiatives like hyperlocal delivery model, B2B2C, etc.
Is a PGP from IIM-A 2003-05 batch and a B.E. (Marine Engineering). Before his Business School, he spent 4 years on the ships working in a cross-cultural environment that was physically and mentally demanding.
He loves writing - is a published author of fiction novel, ‘Eagle Spotted Message Decoded’ and now dabbles with poetry too.
